What’s Molybdenum Disilicide Mosi2 Heater ?
Molybdenum disilicide(MoSi2) heating element is one resistance heating component made from MoSi2 or as the basic material. When it’s heated to high temperature under the oxidizing atmosphere, one dense MoSi2film will be formed on its surface to protect the element against oxidizing further. Therefore, the element has unique anti-oxidation property under high temperature atmosphere. The highest temperature can reach 1800°C, the applicable temperature is between 500-1700°C.
Mosi2 heating element is a special product combined metal and ceramics. So it has the characteristics of silicon and molybdenum.
Molybdenum disilicide (MoSi2) is a refractory metal silicide that is primarily used as a heating element. In recent years, its potential for use as a structural ceramic has been recognised, as the material combines excellent oxidation resistance and high elastic modulus at elevated temperatures.
Application: It can be used as heating elements of industrial high-temperature furnace, like ceramics, magnetic materials, glasses, metallurgy, refractories etc.

Main features of Molybdenum Disilicide Mosi2 Heater :

2.MoSi2 heating element can quickly form a thin and adhesive anti-oxidizing layer of quartz glass (SiO2), under the high temperature oxidizing condition. If the protective layer was damaged, the element can reform a new one, so MoSi2 heating elements have a very good anti-oxidation properties, it also means that the heating element can be used on operation for a much longer time than the traditional one.
3.The resistivity of the Mosi2 heating element is not changing with the time, so a new one can be installed without effecting the old one. This can result of the huge saving in furnace maintenance fee sand time as well, increase the working efficiency. This is the key point of Mosi2 heating element being a better material and being widely used.
